Overview
Earbuilder is a very intuative program and is almost like playing a game really.
The object of the software is to increase your ears sensitivity to certain
pitches and get your ear in tune (he he I made a funny) with those pitches in a
question and answer format. Let's take a look at how the main earbuilder screen
is broken up.

We have broken the main screen up into 6 different sections.
Section 1: Caption Bar and Menu
The Caption bar displays the title while. The File menu has one option which is
exit. Selecting the exit option will terminate the program. The Options menu
has one option which is configuration. Selecting the configuration option will
allow you to set midi options and software preferences. The Help menu has two
option which are Earbuilder Help and about. Selecting Earbuilder Help will take
you to the online help. Selecting About will display software credits and
licensing information.
Section 2: Navigation bar
The Navigation bar allows you to navigate through the program. The Navigation
bar is separated into groups which are Training, Library, and Profiles.
Training is where you will go to train your ear and get ready for that big gig
you've got coming up. The library is where you will go to create, edit, or
delete any Intervals, Scales, or Chords that may need it. Lastly the Profiles
group allows you to create, edit, or delete user profiles and viewing your stats
for a selected profile.
Section 3: Main program and drill window
The main program window is where the screens are displayed when you click the
subitems beneath a Navigation Bar Group. example... Clicking the Intervals
button under the Training group will display the Intervals training screen.
Section 4: Status Bar
The Status Bar displays general information about intervals selected, which
profile you are currently using and the progress of the autotrainer.
Section 5: Answer selection Bar
The Answer selection Bar is where your current stack of answers will reside
depending on how many items you have selected for a training module (interval,
scale, or chords). Just select your answer and the program will tell you in no
uncertain terms is you are correct or incorrect.
Section 6: Common Drill Interface
The "Common Drill Interface" is shared between all training modules (intervals,
scales, chords). Selecting the New button will randomly play a new interval,
scale, or chord and populate the answer bar with some choices for you.
Selecting the Repeat button will repeat the note(s) that were just played. If
you give up and are frustrated you can always click on the Reveal button and
your answer will be displayed in the memo box between the Reveal and Repeat
buttons.
